Jazz Happens Here

Our next monthly Jazz Society Artist/Educator get together will be Tuesday, September 16, 2008 (3rd Tuesday of the month). This month's gathering will be at Bashir's Taverna which is located at 507 East Main Street, on the Downtown Mall next to the Post Office. Please join us for a performance by Laurence Elder, jazz pianist extraordinaire. Just back from shows at the Blues Alley in Washington DC and the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City.
Laurence Elder's fresh, inspired blend of jazz, rock, blues and pop, along with his "triple threat" talents as a singer-songwriter-pianist, set his music apart as a vital new original sound. Already a signed artist on ESC Records in Europe and in Japan on the P-Vine label, Laurence has recorded with Grammy winners Paquito D’Rivera and Peter Erskine, who both appear as guests on his critically acclaimed debut album, “Surrounded.”
Doors open at 7PM. OPEN TO EVERYONE. $5 donation at the door to help support the Jazz Society. Two Hours FREE PARKING (complements of Fellini's Restaurant). Bring your parking ticket from one of the parking garages, and we will validate it for up to 2 hours.
Food will be provided by Bashir's and they will have a full bar available to all attendees. So please plan on eating and merriment at our Artist/Educator gathering at Bashir's Taverna.
